On 24 August 2024, the Embassy of Saudi
Arabia celebrated the 94th National Day of the  On 16 September 2024, the 33rd Anniversary of the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a reception at     Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan was celebrated
the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore. The event    with a reception hosted by H.E. Alisher Kayumov and Mrs.
was hosted by Saudi Ambassador H.E. Abdullah    Nargiza Kayumov at the Shangri-La Hotel. The event was
Mohammed A. Almadhi, with Ms. Rahayu            attended by dignitaries, diplomats, and members of the
Mahzam, Minister of State for the Ministry of   business and cultural communities. Mr. Desmond Tan, Senior
Digital Development and Information and the     Minister of State at the Prime Ministerâ€™s Office and Deputy
Ministry of Health, representing the Singapore  Secretary-General of NTUC, represented the Singapore
government as the Guest of Honour. In recent    Government as the Guest of Honour, highlighting the
years, the relationship between Singapore and   strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and Singapore.
Saudi Arabia has continued to strengthen.

Mexican Embassy in Singapore Marks 214th Anniversary of
Independence with Festive Celebration

On 13 September 2024, the Embassy of Mexico in Singapore
commemorated the 214th anniversary of Mexicoâ€™s Independence with
a vibrant celebration at the Sheraton Towers Singapore Hotel. The event
was led by Ambassador Agustin Garcia Lopez Loaeza and was attended
by the Guest of Honour, Ms. Gan Siow Huang, the Minister of State for
Education and Manpower. The celebration welcomed representatives
from the diplomatic corps, prominent figures from Singaporeâ€™s business
sectors, and members of the resident Mexican community, creating a
unique opportunity to honor Mexicoâ€™s rich history and cultural heritage.

                                                       Farewell and Welcome Reception Held by the Dean of
                                                       Diplomatic Corps at Shangri-La Singapore

                                                                          On 6 August 2024, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador
                                                                          Agustin Garcia-Lopez Loaeza, alongside Mdm Katya Anaya de Garcia-
                                                                          Lopez, held a distinguished reception at Shangri-La Singapore. The
                                                                          event was organised to honour the departing diplomats: H.E. Ms.
                                                                          Eugenia Barthelmess, Ambassador of Brazil; H.E. Mario Miranda Duarte,
                                                                          Ambassador of Portugal; and H.E. Eivind S. Homme, Royal Norwegian
                                                                          Embassy. These ambassadors have contributed significantly to
                                                                          strengthening diplomatic ties between their respective countries and
                                                                          Singapore.

                                                                          The reception was also an opportunity to extend a warm welcome
                                                                         to the newly appointed diplomats. Among the newcomers were H.E.
                                                                         Nikesh Mehta, British High Commissioner to Singapore; H.E. Mdm
                                                                         Tamara Villanueva, Embassy of Chile; H.E. Mdm Rabia Shafiq, High
                                                                         Commission of Pakistan; and CDA Francisca Kemi Omayuli, Embassy
                                                                         of Nigeria. Their arrival marks the beginning of new opportunities for
                                                                         collaboration and friendship between their countries and Singapore.
